Rockyroad Hanover represents the dominant sire line with four of the top six sires on the 2023 2yo money list (5th November). They include sons of Sombeachsomewhere, Captaintreacherous, Huntsville, Stay Hungry and Downbytheseaside. Captaintreacherous, the sire of Rockyroad Hanover is top of that list.
Captaintreacherous has sired 13 millionaires to date while the other three sons of Somebeachsomewhere have sired just six between them. Rockyroad Hanover represents a new era in breeding.

Ran second to the incomparable Bulldog Hanover in The Haughton Memorial in a world record 1:45.5 beaten two lengths (his time 1:46.1) but was still four lengths ahead of the next best in that race. They included Tattoo Artist ($3,214,408), This Is The Plan ($3,193,821), Catch The Fire ($1,525,829) and Abuckabett Hanover ($1,244,433).

Ran third to Bulldog Hanover running his last quarter in an amazing 24.4 the same time as Bulldog Hanover's last quarter in that race.
Rockyroad Hanover's 4YO season was an amazing journey that was unfortunately overshadowed by the greatness of Bulldog Hanover. Overcoming difficult posts and rough trips to put up arguably some of the greatest efforts a horse can make when finishing second to a generational champion.
