Lyon’s Sentinel-Bulldog Hanover foal arrives

The fantastically successful harness racing mare Lyons Sentinel p, 4, 1:48 ($2,139,086), a daughter of Captainreacherous, has delivered her first foal, a strapping, light bay by colt by world champion and 2022 Dan Patch Horse of the Year Bulldog Hanover p, 4, 1:45.4 ($2,419,000).

The baby arrived in the wee hours of Sunday, April 14 at Ola Yoder’s Kountry Lane Standardbreds in Wakarusa, Indiana, taking his first breath at approximately 1:30 am, according to farm and foaling manager Duane Miller.

While the royally bred colt stood and nursed not long after being born, his initial entrance into this world was a little tenacious according to Miller.

“He baffled us at first,” Miller explained. “His two front feet were upside down, but the rest of his body was not, and he was twisted around inside the mare, so it was a bit of a struggle getting him out, but with the help of our vet, we did get him out, and he wasted no time standing after that, and has had no problems.
